Crawfort Cemetery.

Notes for MAGGIE MAE JOHNS:
Maggie had a gift for delivering infants, and delivered two of her own grand-children. She had worked for a doctor, I believe in Cross City, Fl.
She was a great cook. She was beautiful as a young lady. She was sick quiet often and her daughter, Allene, stayed out of school often to care for her.
Maggie had waist length hair when she was elderly and would braid it and pile it on top her head. She did not use a rubber band to hold the braids together. She would pull hair out of her brush and use that to secure the braids, winding it round the end of the braid. Hey, you did what you had to.

Marriage Notes for WILLIAM BAGGETT and MAGGIE JOHNS:
I can remember grand-pa as a very young girl (3 years old) and I recall sitting on his lap combing his eyebrows. They must have been thick or long or something to make me want to do that. Also, one time he shoveled up some sand for me to play in in his back yard in Rock Hill (Brewton). I also remember when he died, that his body was laid out at his residence. I really liked my grand-pa and wish that he had lived a longer life so I could have known him more. Mom said that he loved to visit family. He built the house that he died in at Brewton. He was a carpenter and farmed some. Also, when his dad died, William Ashley he was the oldest child, being approximately 12 years old. He sort of took care of things with his brothers and sisters and helped rear them. Maybe that is why he was 27 years old when he married my grand-mother.

(WILLIAM BAGGETT and MAGGIE JOHNS had five children born after 1900.) One was Ruby Baggett.

Notes for RUBY M. BAGGETT:
There was little song Ruby would sing when you asked what her name was. She sang"It's Ruby Myrtle Doodle Turtle Baggett Johns Weaver Wyatt". It all hits home to me now after this roots quest I've been on that Ruby had the answers all along. This genealogy is all about the Baggetts, Johns and Weavers. Ruby has a sense of humor and you'd scream just laughing at her. As I type this, she is this writers only immediate aunt. She is dear.
